Do it Yourself Wii Repair Guide Learn How to Fix a Wii Remote

Monday, January 25th, 2010

This article is about “Do it Yourself Wii Repair Guide Learn How to Fix a Wii Remote”, we hope to bring more articles about “wii” in the near future:

The Nintendo Wii is by far the best gaming console on the planet and is by far the most interactive of all game consoles and that is why the system has such a broad appeal on the consumer market! There are times when a consumer cannot find a Wii anywhere they look and that includes on the net and in retail outlets. Like I stated above the main factor that draws consumers to the Wii is the ability to be more interactive with it more than any other unit on the market.

Well, the one thing about being interactive with your game console is the fact that the hardware is going to get used a bit harder than the hardware of other gaming units. The Wii remote is the one part of the system that gets used the most and because of this the remote is prone to having issues and may at one point or another need servicing or repair. You swing the remote in all different directions and something is bound to come loose inside or in the worst case broken if you let it go by accident and it gets flung across the room!

Well, if your Wii mote stops working for whatever reason you do not need to get that sinking feeling. I know you know what I am talking about. You know that sinking feeling of “Oh man! I am out of warranty!, How much is this going to cost?, I hope mom does not find out!” So I know you know what I am talking about! So, your first step is to check to make sure the batteries are good. I know that this sounds simple to do and it is, the fact of the matter is that we sometimes lose track of how long the batteries have been in the remote. Naturally, if the batteries are weak them replace them.

If the batteries are the rechargeable type then recharge them and make sure that they are in good order with no seepage. If the batteries are good then check out your controller for cracks and if you have num chuks then check them for breaks as well.

If there are breaks or cracks chances are that this hardware will need to be replaced. Make sure that the Wii sync is functioning properly. Do this especially if your game console is new.

If you have to sync your Wii then press and hold both of the buttons on the unit for at least thirty seconds and watch the flashing light. This should get the remote in sync with the controller, but if it has not then you will have to find another troubleshooting option.

Check the lens of the Wii remote for fingerprints and smudges and these can impede the transmission between the remote and the controller.

Of course if you have to send your Wii out for repairs then this could end up costing a lot of money that you may neither have or want to spend. There is however another option.

The Wii is actually fairly easy to troubleshoot and fix most of the common day to day issues that many people around the world experience with their game consoles. Have you ever thought about learning how to fix your own Wii and save your money? In this article we have looked at just a little bit of one little issue for the Wii which is basic troubleshooting of the remote itself. If you would like to learn more about wii repair then please visit: Do It Yourself Wii Repair Guide Today!

Burn Wii Games Copy and Make Wii Backups The Easy Way

Monday, January 25th, 2010

This article is about “Burn Wii Games Copy and Make Wii Backups The Easy Way”, we hope to bring more articles about “wii” in the near future:

To Burn Wii games or not to ? That’s the question. The Wii is increasing in popularity, and as such there is a huge demand for games. Even worse, games are expensive, so what happens if you scratch the disc or something? Read on to find out how to burn Wii games that you can use as a backup.

Okay now before you get into this, it’s update yourself on the copyright laws in your area. In most places, it’s legal to burn Wii games, as long as you own the original, and that the copies are for your personal use only, IE as backups. This is the most common law, but please check it out in your area all the same – there are no Wiis in jail, so you don’t really want to end up there right?

First of all, it’s not possible to do any copying or anything with the Wii itself, so you’ll need to use your computer, and you will need a specific kind of DVD Drive in order to get it working. You need one of the LG-816 series, most notably 8161b, 8162b or 8163b. There is plenty of information about these on Google, so perform a quick search if you need to, and if you are having trouble finding the drives you need to burn Wii games, check Ebay, you can usually get them there.

You need to make an image of the disc before you can burn Wii games, so in addition to the DVD drive, you will need to install some software called .net Framework 2.0, and Raw Dump 2.0

The first thing you need to do to burn Wii games is to put the game you want to burn inside your LG dvd drive. Once it’s in, open the Raw Dump file (should have been created after installation) and double click on the rawdump.exe file to get the rawdump program fired up.

Once rawdump opens, you will get a dialog box. Click the button that says Start Dump, and you will soon be ready to burn Wii games. The next part of the process is largely about patience. Due to the size of the files on a DVD, you will need to wait quite a while for the dump to finish. Waiting time will vary due to computer spec and hardware etc, but it can be anywhere between 1 hour and about 5 hours, if you have a slow computer.

Once it’s finished, you should see a new file in the rawdump folder, an ISO file, with the same name as whatever game you copied. An ISO file is simply a perfect image of what was previously on a disc. You’ll get familiar with these files if you intend to burn Wii games as a habit.

The last two parts of the process are probably the simplest thing you need to do when you burn Wii games. First of all, once the dump finishes, right click on the new file and choose Properties. What you are looking for here is the size of the file. ALL Wii game ISOs are 4.7 Gb in size, which is the same size as a blank DVD, so you can see that the image dump has picked up everything. Anything different from this and you will need to begin again, as it’s not possible to burn Wii games if the ISOs are the wrong size!

Once you have the right size, all you need to do to perform the actual burning of the Wii games is to get your preferred burning software, start a new project, and instruct it to burn the ISO image onto a brand new blank DVD. This part can be a little finicky, and if you use low quality discs you’ll find you have problems with unreadable games etc.

In order to play the Wii games that you burned, you will either need to get your Wii fitted with a modchip, or use one of several SD card modifications. Tutorials for both of these can easily be found on the net.

As you’ve seen, if you’ve an urge to burn Wii games, it can be done, but be aware of your own local laws and regulations. Check out the links below to see where you can download free games.

Wii Troubleshooting Unable to Read Disk

Monday, January 25th, 2010

This article is about “Wii Troubleshooting Unable to Read Disk”, we hope to bring more articles about “wii” in the near future:

If you are like me then you have probably had the following happen. You await eagerly for the next big smash hit Wii game to be released. You ring your Video store to reserve a copy, you go to work, after work you drive to your video store like a man on a mission, get that beloved game, drive home barely keeping to the speed limit, grab your Wii, plug it in, insert your game and you get “Game could not be read.” Is there anything more frustrating than that? I don’t think so! Hopefully in this article I can show you what you can do to lessen the chance of this happening to you.

Firstly there are several reasons while this “unable to read disk” message applies ranging from incorrect handling of the DVD to improper loading of the game disk; your DVD drive could also be faulty. The good thing about Wii troubleshooting the unable to read disk problem is not that difficult.

You will want to make sure that your disk is being loaded properly. If your Wii console is positioned in the vertical position then you should have the label on the Wii disk facing to the right. If however you have a horizontally positioned console then the label of course should be facing upwards.

If the game is being loaded properly but the unable to read disk problem still applies then you will want to inspect the game disk itself. If there are any scratches on the disk then this can be the problem. You will want to get a micro fiber clothe or similar and give the disk a wipe, the same goes if there are dirty fingerprints or similar on the disk. Make sure that you wipe from the center of the disk outwards, never wipe round and round.

If the problem still persists then you may need to get a DVD lens cleaner and give your console the once over with that. These can easily be picked up at your local video store for around $5.00.

While there are a few more common Wii troubleshooting problems with regards to “unable to read disk” these are the more common solutions.

If you would like to find out more solutions to the “unable to read disk” error then visit our site below for more information.

If you would like to learn How to Fix Wii then visit our site where you can learn more about a quality Wii Repair Guide that will show you how in under an hour you can be back playing on your Wii guaranteed.

Nintendo Wii Mod Chip A Review And Comparison Of Wii Modchips

Monday, January 25th, 2010

This article is about “Nintendo Wii Mod Chip A Review And Comparison Of Wii Modchips”, we hope to bring more articles about “wii” in the near future:

The Nintendo Wii has just barely hit retail stores, and already the homebrew scene is fast at work. Creating not only killer applications and homebrew games, but also developing (or at least helping develop) the worlds first Nintendo Wii mod chip(s). In this article I am going to discuss Nintendo Wii Mod Chips and give some of the features, pros and cons of the 3 different Nintendo Wii Mod Chips that have just recently been released.

The good news for Nintendo Wii gamers is that regardless of which Nintendo Wii mod chip you buy – you’ll have all the basics with each one. You will be able to play all Nintendo Wii Backup games (on DVD-R or DVD+R discs) and can use 8cm or 12cm DVD discs. You will also be able to play all Gamecube Backup games, import games as well as Gamecube Homebrew games. It really gets down to installation of the Nintendo Wii Mod chip and the features and functions, and future upgrade options of each Wii mod chip.

What is even more surprising with these new Nintendo Wii Mod chips is the prices that they’re being sold for. I remember quite clearly the days of the very first Playstation 2 mod chips, costing in excess of $90.00 US Dollars. It seems the Wii chips have opted instead for a lower entry price, in an effort to gain a greater piece of the Homebrew / Development / Modchip market. The prices range anywhere from $44.00 to just over $50.00, depending on the chip you decide to buy.

At present, there are actually 3 different Nintendo Wii Mod chips which will hit the market and online stores within the next week or so. While many online news sources seem to focus on just 2 of the 3 mod chips, perhaps because they’re unaware that there is a third chip in the making, I’m going to cover all 3 of the mod chips in the hopes of enabling you, the gamer, to make the buying decision that’s right for you. And after reading this article, I honestly believe that your decision will be based solely on price, and perhaps the option of an upgrade (or lack of) for the Wii Mod Chips.

Wiinja Nintendo Wii Mod Chip

The Wiinja Nintendo Wii Mod chip was actually the very first Wii chip to hit the market. While many online news sources seem to disregard this chip, it is still the very first and one of the easiest mod chips to install for the Nintendo Wii. Like the other mod chips for the Wii, the Wiinja will enable you to play all Wii and Gamecube Backup games, as well as Wii Import backup games, and original import games with just a single swap. Gamecube Import and Homebrew games are fully supported. While the other mod chips promise that their modchips, in time, will have their own custom OS to enable additional features, the Wiinja chip does not make this claim. In fact, they have stated that their chip is not meant to be upgraded. Stealth mode is still built in, even into this mod chip, and whether or not the lack of an upgrade feature is a deterrent is entirely up to you, the user. Often times many modchip manufacturers claim upgrade features, but then they lack the support for the upgrades, which tend to come out very rarely, if ever at all.

WiiKey Nintendo Wii Modchip

The manufacturer hype states the following: Unlock your Nintendo Wii with the worlds first truly upgradeable Nintendo Wii Mod Chip. The WiiKey for Nintendo Wii is made by the famous xenoGC team, responsible for the xenoGC Gamecube line of mod chips, and now, with their WiiKey, Wii owners can enjoy all the benefits of a team of great developers with a truly upgradeable Nintendo Wii Mod chip. The WiiKey comes ready to use, and offers an almost wireless installation. When they say almost wireless, what this essentially means is that there are Quick Solder pads for the chip. This method enables you, the gamer, to simply position the chip in the correct place on the Mother board of the Wii, in order to then apply a little bit of solder with a soldering iron. The WiiKey chip does however also require that you solder 4 wires to the specified places on the Wii motherboard. The WiiKey mod chip was the first chip that boasted full upgradeability through DVD-R discs to which you can burn / backup the new firmware updates, put The DVD in to your Nintendo Wii, and it will run and update the chip. Once again, the WiiKey also supports loading of both Wii and Gamecube backup games and import backup games. Original import games can be played as well, with a simple, single swap methos. Gamecube Homebrew games are also supported. Whether or not this mod chip will end up with it’s own custom OS is something we’ll just have to take a wait and see approach with. However, it offers everything you want, for a VERY reasonable price.

And finally, the last Nintendo Wii mod chip (often claimed to be the very FIRST Nintendo Wii Modchip) is the only chip in this round up that actually does not require any wires at all.

CycloWiz Nintendo Wii Mod Chips

The major advatange, or selling feature of the CycloWiz Nintendo Wii mod chip is in how it’s installed. Unlike the other 2 mod chips in this round up, the CycloWiz actually does not require you to solder any wires to the Wii mainboard. In fact, much like the WiiKey, you’ll simply use Quick Solder pads which are strategically placed in the design of the CycloWiz to enable you to simply position the chip on the Nintendo Wii Mainboard, and gently put some solder onto the points. This will make the required connections, and the chip will simply be installed, with absolutely no need figure out where wires are to be soldered or whether or not you’ve got the right type of wires, etc… The CycloWiz is also a fully upgradeable modchip, with promised firmware updates for the chip from the manufacturer. Again, I want to stress that firmware updates may not at all be required and perhaps may not come for some time. I myself do however like the idea that the chip will not be outdated should some new function or requirement become the norm.

To sum it all up, all of the Nintendo Wii Mod chips boast the features below. The only exception to this is the upgrade feature which is NOT available on the Wiinja chip. Take a look at the features, and decide for yourself which Wii mod Chip is right for you.

  • Fully upgradeable via DVD/disc (future proof, expect cool features to come)
  • Direct boot of Wii backups (like originals)
  • Direct boot of GC backups (like originals)
  • Boots different region GC games/backups
  • Boots different NTSC region Wii games/backups
  • Supports multi-disc games
  • Supports DVD-R and DVD+R
  • Built-in audio fix (for games using streaming audio)
  • Works in all Nintendo Wii consoles World Wide – USA, Pal and Japanese versions!
  • Now it’s up to you to decide which Nintendo Wii mod Chip is right for you.

The Wii Fit Bundle Secret Unlocked Your Guide to Finding a Wii Fit Bundle Today

    Monday, January 25th, 2010

This article is about “The Wii Fit Bundle Secret Unlocked Your Guide to Finding a Wii Fit Bundle Today”, we hope to bring more articles about “wii” in the near future:

The Wii Fit is the latest release for the Nintendo Wii to cause a huge stir among consumers. The game contains 4 different types of exercises for players to complete: Yoga, Balance Games, Aerobic Exercises, and Strength Training. These four main categories include a minimum of 10 simple games to complete in order to improve your scores and physical condition. Since most of these exercises require the balance board, Wii Fit Bundles are in high demand. The Wii Fit Bundle includes the game along with the Wii Balance Board.

Unless a pre-order of the Wii Fit Bundle was made, it’s very difficult to locate the bundle in stores. Much like the Nintendo Wii Consoles, the bundles are sold out and very likely backordered for at least a few weeks. The demand for the game is understandable as it allows gamers from five years old to senior citizens to engage in activities that are not only fun, but also help get the blood flowing. Often times, the problem with exercising is that it feels too much like work. With the Wii Fit, you can have fun and exercise at the same time. With many people struggling to find time to exercise, the Wii Fit allows users to spend twenty to thirty minutes a day participating in engaging and enjoyable activities.

Unless you happen to run across a store that just got Wii Fit bundles in stock, it will likely be hard to start your training program for a few weeks. That’s where online shopping comes in. Often times, online retailers will have a better chance of having a hot game or electronics item as compared with local retail stores.

If you’re looking to pickup a Wii Fit Bundle, then check out http://wiiconsolesandmore.com. They have the best prices and selection on Nintendo Wii Consoles, Bundles, Games, and Accessories.

Download Wii Games! Learn to Download and Burn Wii Games

    Monday, January 25th, 2010

This article is about “Download Wii Games! Learn to Download and Burn Wii Games”, we hope to bring more articles about “wii” in the near future:

The Wii from Nintendo is quickly climbing the ranks as one of the most popular gaming consoles ever. The fact that it is so interactive is drawing crowds of children and families alike. With its growing popularity more and more people are wondering where they can download Wii games. There are more options available to you than you might think. Some of them are really reliable options while others are for the most part a waste of time. Choosing where to download Wii games is often a tough decision with the choices that are available.

Many people are falling back on Google as their number one resource to download Wii games from. Unfortunately, most of the results that Google feeds you are either bad files or are infected with some type of virus. Other problems that people run into are games in the wrong format or they are in an unsupported download type. While Google is great for many things I would not recommend it as the best option.

I have read quite a bit about membership sites that charge a monthly subscription fee. In all honesty this option is a little pricey for my wallet. You agree to pay a monthly fee in order to download the games that you are looking for. You have to pay the fee weather you use the service that month or not. The upside is that these sites do provide a fairly large amount of content. I will review a couple of these sites a little later.

I’ve personally heard quite a few horror stories of people using torrent sites to download Wii games. The Fact of the matter is most people are downloading viruses and trojan horses instead of the games that they are looking for. Torrents used to be one of my favorite resources for downloading all kinds of media but over the years it has become a community filled with malicious users. Their only objective is to infect your computer with some type of harmful code. Torrents are a bad option in my opinion.

Personally, I have had my best experience with “Mega Sites.” These sites allow you to download Wii games in a fast and efficient manner. The amount of games that you can download is unlimited and they even provide you with all of the software you need to use to download Wii games. The software is great but whats even better is you are provided with step by step instructions from download to transferring the games to your Wii. To me the service that these sites offer is invaluable.

I am an avid Wii fan and have been trying to find better ways to keep my Wii game collection up to date since I purchased the console just about a year ago. It is now my mission to help as many people as I can with the information that I have compiled. For a review of a couple of the best “mega sites” that I have found take the time to visit my blog. Simply follow this link Download Wii Games

How To Download Free Wii Games

    Monday, January 25th, 2010

This article is about “How To Download Free Wii Games”, we hope to bring more articles about “wii” in the near future:

Nowadays, there are all sorts of free download available over the internet. Entertainment media like games, movies, music and TV shows are the most popular. Done properly, they benefit both the providers and consumers in the long run. In the case of Nintendo, it saves the Wii gamers heaps if they know How to Download Free Wii Games online.

Strictly speaking, straight FOC (free-of-charge) Nintendo Wii game download is not a norm. Why should Nintendo let them be? Given its immense popularity, the games are the core money-spinners of the moment for them. As a matter of fact, they apply full intellectual property protection on their Wii games. So is there now still a way on How to Download Free Wii Games online? You bet!

Yes, there are still Nintendo Wii games that are absolutely free to be found on the net. Then again, it’s better to steer clear of them as they are likely to be illegal, of sub-standard quality and laden with virus and malware. Others would require soft installation and even hard modification to the extent that unless you’re into technology rather than video gaming, you’ll burn out in the pursuit.

Without re-inventing the wheel, the ready-made solution to How to Download Free Wii Games is membership sites which give a lifetime of unlimited free access of all kinds of media including video games. Although the download of Wii games is free at such sites, a one-time joining fee is required. However, competition is keen so the amount is usually very reasonable.

Even for those who are only occasional gamers or where only a few games in particular are sought, downloading Wii games is still viable. There is a per-download online option at only a fraction of the cost of the discs from the game stores. But by and large, Wii fanciers go on for more after a while even if they started out lukewarm and quite typically upgrade to unlimited access membership in due course.

It is easy to find Wii Download Services on the internet but this is where one needs to tread with caution. In the haste onto the bandwagon of this hugely popular service, many contenders have run ahead of themselves, thus falling short on commitments to their subscribed members. Worse still, some are just out to pull a fast one on those who are not wise to such tactics. In truth, there are but only a precious few of them who are worth their salt.

No need to despair, a few simple tips will set you safely on How to Download Free Wii Games. Find a provider which offers full money-back guarantee with no questions asked, software, tools and accessories with no extra charge, all media including games, movies, music and TV shows and 24/7 support and service, and you are then on the right track. If it’s also powered by secure retailers such as Clickbank, you are in safe hands.
